CEO Trayle has shared his fifth annual Happy Halloween mixtape via Do What You Love and 10K Project. HH5 arrives today (October 31), in celebration of spooky season’s climax, alongside a Decat-directed, blood-spatter visual treatment for its opening track, “Sincerely Yours.” It was preceded by two singles: “I Love You, But…” and “Chokehold,” the former arriving in mid October and the latter this past Friday.
The new project is an 18-track opus that finds the Atlanta rapper flowing over varied and expansive — but uniformly ominous — production from Dun Deal, OG Parker, Go Grizzly, Trauma Tone, and Stribb, among others. The record only features one guest verse, from Fastmoney Ant on “Nightmares & Dreams” (C4, the listed feature on “Alter Ego 2,” is, in fact, one of Trayle’s alter egos). But Trayle’s elite chops and versatility easily carry the tape through a tight 51 minutes of music with very little filler. After the ultra-compressed strike of July’s Vier EP, HH5‘s slow burn is proof that format matters very little in the face of Trayle’s undeniable greatness.
