Joni Mitchell has announced her first headlining show in Los Angeles in nearly a quarter century. The legendary folk artist will perform at Hollywood Bowl on October 19, where she’ll be “joined by the Joni Jam,” according to a post announcing the show on her official Instagram account. Pre-sales to the concert begin tomorrow (January 31) at 10 a.m. PST with the password JJAM24 via Ticketmaster, with the general sale opening at the same time on Friday, February 2.
After suffering a brain aneurysm in 2015, Mitchell had to completely relearn the motor skills needed to play guitar, finally showing off her newly reacquired skills during a surprise appearance at the 2022 Newport Festival, with some help from Brandy Carlile and a backing band. (The widely shared set was later dubbed the “Joni Jam.”) She joined Carlile onstage again in October 2023 at the Hollywood Bowl, this time during Carlile’s headlining show.
On Monday (January 29), Mitchell was announced as a featured performer at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, taking place this coming Sunday (February 4) at the Crypto.com Arena in L.A. Broadcast coverage of the event begins at 5 p.m. Pacific/8 p.m. Eastern.
