Doja Cat has performed “Paint the Town Red,” "Attention," and "Demons" at the 2023 MTV VMAs.
In addition to performing at this year’s VMAs, Doja Cat is nominated for five awards: Artist of the Year; Video of the Year, Best Direction, and Best Art Direction, for “Attention”); and Best Collaboration, for “I Like You (A Happier Song)” with Post Malone.
Despite Doja’s adamant rejection of her fan base of late — a gambit that has reportedly lost her about half a million Instagram followers — she remains hugely popular and is showing no signs of slowing the pace of her musical output.
Last month, she announced her fourth studio album, Scarlet, and despite a minor, surreal mixup with its original, oddly familiar cover art, all signs still point to a September 22 release.
At the start of September, Doja released “Demons,” the third confirmed single from the project, along with a music video starring Christina Ricci.
