Burial and Kode9 detail split EP
Infirmary / Unknown Summer is due out July 21 via fabric Originals.
In late May, Hyperdub founder Kode9 and reclusive producer Burial teased a forthcoming collaboration on a London billboard that read “FABRIC ORIGINALS: BURIAL X KODE9.” Today (June 30), as the Quietus reports and a representative of Hyperdub has confirmed to The FADER, the two electronic icons have revealed the project’s title, Infirmary / Unknown Summer; its release date, July 21; and its format, a split EP with each artist contributing a single track.
The new project will follow 2018’s FABRICLIVE 100, Kode9 and Burial’s first joint release with fabric Originals, a record label connected to the London nightclub fabric. In the interim, Burial has compiled his loosies on Tunes 2011-2019, worked with Thom Yorke and Four Tet, and dropped short-form releases at his own pace. Kode9 shared Escapology last year, his first solo studio LP since 2015.
The FADER has reached out to fabric for more information on Infirmary / Unknown Summer.
