Earl Sweatshirt recalls MTV’s brighter days on “Making The Band (Danity Kane)”
Earl’s first solo track in over a year is produced by Surf Gang’s Evilgiane.
Earl Sweatshirt has dropped a new track titled “Making The Band (Danity Kane),” produced by Surf Gang wunderkind Evilgiane. The surreptitious single is a quick hit, with a minimal beat and sparse, stylish bars that riff on the song’s central pun (the confluence of cash and MTV’s supergroup incubator era) without belaboring it. Watch Hidji World and YGA’s music video for the song above.
“Making The Band” is Earl’s first new solo release since his fourth studio album SICK! dropped in January 2022. Evilgiane, on the other hand, has been prolific of late, most recently handling the beat for another suprise track: Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem’s “The Hillbillies.”
