Victoria Monét has shared a new single and music video just in time for the weather warming up. “Party Girls,” featuring reggae icon Buju Banton, is a provocative dancehall tune that blends Monét’s alluring R&B vocals and Banton’s playful rhymes over the classic, carefree Carribbean beat.
“’Party Girls’ is an ode to women around the world who keep celebrations alive,” Monét says in a press statement. “If you recall any social gathering, nightlife extravaganza or day party you’ll likely recall a moment where a woman made it so much more exciting!”
The track will be on Monét’s forthcoming debut album, JAGUAR II, a sequel to her 2020 JAGUAR EP. While there’s no set release date as of yet, it’s expected to arrive this summer.
“JAGUAR II is multidimensional,” Monét tells The FADER, describing how “Party Girl” will fit into the forthcoming project. “This song represents another side! It makes you want to be outside. It’s a darker, sexy side of the album that I’m so excited for the world to hear!” Watch the track’s Meji Alabi-directed music video above.
