03 Greedo hasn’t been releasing music at quite the 150-song-per-year clip he’d need to empty out the vault of 3,000 tracks he claims he’s sitting on by the end of his 20-year prison sentence. Nevertheless, the Watts-born rapper has been quite productive behind bars. His recent achievements including getting his GED; dropping collaborative mixtapes with Kenny Beats, Mustard, Travis Barker, and Ron-Ron the Producer; and sharing a steady string of standalones in between.
Back in February, he put out “Pourin” (feat. BlueBucksClan), the first single from a forthcoming tape titled Free 03, release date TBA. And on Wednesday, he returned with the project’s second offering, “Drop Down,” produced by fellow Angelino Mike Free and featuring Houston emcee KenTheMan (who is, in fact, a woman).
The new song is a tongue-in-cheek instructional a la Ye’s “The New Workout Plan.” “Drop down, pick it up,” Greedo begins, rattling off a list of commands before launching into a graphic retelling of a sexual escapade. Ken matches his cockiness and candor bar for bar in her own verse, rounding out three minutes of filthy fun.
