Madi Diaz released History of a Feeling, her first studio album in seven years, last August. Just over a month ago, she announced a companion EP. Same History, New Feelings, out today via ANTI-, comprises new versions of four of that project's songs recorded with four extremely talented collaborators.
Preceded by a rework of "Resentment" with Waxahatchee, the new tape also includes new takes on History of a Feeling's title track featuring Natalie Hemby, "New Person, Old Place" featuring Courtney Marie Andrews, and "Forever" featuring Angel Olsen, which comes with floral visualizer.
“I've been listening as a fan to these four women for quite awhile now," Diaz wrote in the EP's announcement. I’m honored to call them my friends and to have their voices singing these songs with me is something that I still can’t quite fathom. I’m so thankful for their artistry and their stories giving these songs a whole new world and a whole new life. To share this earth and make music with them in this lifetime is a treasure and a gift from beyond the beyond.”
