Big K.R.I.T. has an album on the way. Since departing from Def Jam in 2016, he's released only two full-length projects: 2017's 4eva is a Mighty Long Time and 2019's K.R.I.T. Iz Here. But the long-independent Mississippi rapper shared news of a new project in a Tuesday Instagram post with the cryptic hashtag #DRDD, a possible reference to the new record's title.

Today, he shared "So Cool," a new single that appears to be a sample of the forthcoming LP. In classic K.R.I.T. form, he sing-raps soulfully over a funky beat replete with pocket drumming a mellow synth, and tasteful horns.

The track is under two minutes long, but it comes with a four-minute music video set in a newsroom, where K.R.I.T., Trinidad James, and fellow MS native Akeem Ali engage in one-upmanship in a fight for the anchor seat after Atlanta radio DJ Wally Sparks tells them its theirs for the taking, as long as they "stay cool."
