Charlie Hickey releases Count The Stairs EP on vinyl
The Pasadena singer-songwriter has also shared a lyric video for “No Good At Lying.”
Pasadena singer-songwriter Charlie Hickey dropped his debut EP, Count The Stairs, in June. Today, he's releasing it on vinyl via Saddest Factory Records, Phoebe Bridgers's Dead Oceans imprint. Hickey has also shared a lyric video for Count The Stairs' opener and lead single, "Not Good At Lying," to celebrate the physical release. With backing vocals from Bridgers, it's an acoustic downer about the stressful space between sleep and wakefulness.
"This song is about escaping, whether it be into a fantasy, a delusion, a dream or a relationship," Hickey said in a statement. "There’s a beauty and a darkness in the ability to do that. The video directors Seth and Isaac Calvin were really able to tap into that and create an environment that captured that weightless feeling of escaping from reality."
