Joey Bada$$ dropped off a brand new video, "The Light," and 3-song EP on Friday, his first solo tracks since his 2017 sophomore album All-Amerikkkan Bada$$.
Directed by Pyer Moss founder Kerby Jean-Raymond and Levi Turner, the visual finds Joey at the center of a traditional voodoo ritual, as described in the video's opening slate. From there, he walks through the streets of New York, empowered and guided by altars and practitioners scattered along the way. "I admit I was gone for a lil minute / It's like I lost my glow, yo / my inner light was dimmin'," he raps over gritty, bass-heavy production. "This is mumble rap extermination / this is godly interpolation."
The Light Pack EP also features the tracks "Shine," and “No Explanation,” featuring Pusha T.
