Kanye West may not have filled out the paperwork for his allegedly serious run for the presidency in 2020, but a new poll from Redfield & Wilton Strategies could throw cold water on his nascent independent bid. According to the survey, West is polling at a meager 2%, and may actually pull one percentage point from President Donald Trump when West's name is mentioned. Check out a summary of the poll below:
National Poll:

Biden 48% (+8)
Trump 40%

West admitted in a recent interview with Forbes that he would be happy if his independent bid drew enough votes from Vice President Joe Biden to reelect Trump. "I'm not denying," he said, "I just told you. To say that the Black vote is Democratic is a form of racism and white supremacy."
West has been a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump since his election in 2016, and told Forbes that Trump's response to the coronavirus pandemic led him to change his mind. Yesterday, Chance The Rapper suggested that he would vote for West over Biden, and kicked off an internet firestorm.
