Justin Vernon has released the first new Bon Iver song since last year's i,i. "PDLIF," which stands for "Please Don't Live In Fear," was released early on Friday. All proceeds from the song will benefit Direct Relief, a humanitarian aid organization working with "public health authorities, nonprofit organizations and businesses in the U.S. and globally to provide personal protective equipment and essential medical items to health workers responding to coronavirus."

The song was produced by Vernon himself, alongside Jim-E Stack and BJ Burton. Kacy Hill, Joseph K. Rainey, Eli Teplin, Devin Hoffman and Rob Moose all contributed to the track from afar, with parts being sent in from self-isolation. "It proves that, though apart, we're never alone; the importance of collaboration/community is as strong as ever," Vernon wrote of the song on Twitter.
