ilham honors different shades of beauty in her “never even know” video

Back in October, Queens singer ilham's "never even know" premiered on an episode of the Joe Budden Podcast. Since that day the silky track has found its way onto multiple Spotify playlists. Part of its wide reach is likely due to the song's painfully resonant theme, with ilham crooning about showing up for others while hardly ever getting the same in return.

Today, The FADER is premiering the song's Kajal-directed video, which cinematically carries out its message. The video also serves as a way to honor the diversity of Black and brown Muslim women in New York City. Watch the video above.
