Last week, Queens artist ilham delivered with time, a 7-song EP that finds her showcasing the versatility of her voice. "in too deep," the project's opener, is an immediate standout; the song starts out sparse and moody before adding in subtle layers of melody. In the video, which premieres on The FADER today and was shot by FigureEightFilms, ilham keeps it in the neighborhood, performing the around day to day life in Queensbridge.
"This video humanizes people like myself that live in the projects," ilham told The FADER over email. "Sometimes people think I may have something because I'm in LA working, but this is my real day to day - living in Queensbridge, New York. We all though have dreams of getting out and that's what I'm aiming to do."
