Wheezy Beats says Justin Vernon gave him “the worst weed I had in my life”

Justin Vernon of Bon Iver is known for his fondness for LSD, but he may not be the plug when it comes to marijuana. Wheezy Beats was a guest on a recent edition of the New York Times video series "Diary of a Song," and in an unused interview excerpt shared on Twitter by Times pop music reporter Joe Coscarelli, Wheezy details how Vernon secured Wheezy some of “the worst weed I had in my life.”

Wheezy says he ran out of weed during a recording session, but Vernon did what gracious hosts do and secured "a pound of weed" for him. Unfortunately, it was worse than bush. "The weed was like grass," Wheezy said. "I was grateful, 'cuz they went and searched and really got it out in the middle of nowhere, but it was so fucking bullshit... He was doing me a favor, but man, that is the worst weed I had in my life."
