Katy Perry has released a new Charlie Puth co-write called “Small Talk.” The follow up to this year’s (fairly great) comeback single “Never Really Over,” “Small Talk,” like its predecessor, returns to the pure pop sound of Perry’s Teenage Dream era, as opposed to the trap-influenced Witness. Earlier this month, a judge ruled that Katy Perry would have to pay a significant sum to the writers of a Christian rap song called "Joyful Noise" which rapper Flame alleged Perry and her producer Dr. Luke had stolen. The implications of this decision could be wide-reaching and highly damaging.
