Today (September 18), Billboard reports that Katy Perry has sold all five of her Capitol Records albums to Litmus Music, a catalog rights company, for $225 million. The deal includes the master recording royalties and music publishing rights to One of the Boys, Teenage Dream, PRISM, Witness and Smile.
Litmus Music, which is under global investment firm The Carlyle Group LP, launched in August 2022 with $500 million funding. Since then, it has acquired the rights to music by benny blanco and Keith Urban.

“Katy Perry is a creative visionary who has made a major impact across music, TV, film, and philanthropy,” Litmus co-founder and chief creative officer Dan McCarroll told Billboard. “I’m so honored to be partnering with her again and to help Litmus manage her incredible repertoire.”
Matt Settle, managing director at The Carlyle Group, told Billboard: “We believe this is a testament to the team’s ability to partner with the world’s top artists. Katy’s iconic songs have not only achieved outstanding commercial success but have significantly influenced popular culture."
Perry's multi-million dollar deal also follows the likes of Justin Bieber selling his complete catalog for $200 million earlier this year and Future selling his publishing catalog for "high eight figures" last fall.
