Salt-N-Pepa-inspired TV show coming to Lifetime
Reports suggest the story of the rap duo will turned into a new miniseries.
Salt-N-Pepa's life story will be the subject of a miniseries on Lifetime, Variety reports. The scripted Salt-N-Pepa will show the rise of Cheryl “Salt” James and Sandra “Pepa” Denton from struggling rappers in Queens to the peak of their '90s popularity and will feature the duo's music, including “Let’s Talk About Sex” and “What a Man.” Queen Latifah is listed as an executive producer on the project, which currently has no confirmed air date.
According to the same report, Lifetime has also ordered TV movie The Clark Sisters: The First Ladies of Gospel. Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige and Missy Elliott are exec producers on the tale of the family group that helped bring gospel music to the mainstream.
