Legendary Houston group The Chopstars have been giving fan favorite hits the chopped and screwed remixes they deserve for the past three decades. A few standouts from the group last year were a full remix of Migos' C U L T U R E, and a mix that joined albums from a certain pair of Houston-raised sisters you may be familiar with. The latest release to come out of The Chopstars is a new installment of Slim K's Nice & Slow series, which arrived yesterday.
Nice & Slow 54: Naija Love is a 13-track mix that slows down some of the best afrobeats to come out in the past two years, not only from Nigeria, but Ghana as well. The already slow-wining "Pour Me Water" by Mr. Eazi becomes woozier. Ghanaian producer Juls's single "Give You Love" is equally smooth as the original at its new, lower BPM. Davido's hit "If" is a standout as well. Artists like Wizkid, Sarkodie, Tekno, and Runtown are also featured. The mix is currently featured on LiveMixtapes, Spinrilla, and the ChopNotSlop app.
