City Girls got their big break earlier this month when Drake featured them on "In My Feelings," the breakout single from his new album Scorpion. The Atlanta duo was already popping though as anyone who has heard their 2018 tape Period will attest.

That's what has made the recent news that group member J.T. — real name Jatavia Johnson — was headed to prison after being sentenced in January on felony identity theft charges all the more shocking. A new interview with Rap-Up sees the group discuss future plans, as well as revealing that having been sentenced to 24 months, J.T. is expected to serve only 6.

Speaking before J.T. went to prison on June 29, the pair confirmed that they won't be letting their momentum slide and that a new mixtape is on the way. “When I’m gone, it’s gonna be a whole project coming out, more videos,” J.T. said adding that she's sad she won't get any say in how she looks in the visuals.

Elsewhere in the interview City Girls confirmed they're down for a Cardi B collaboration (“That would be the littest song of all time,”) and praised her impact for women rappers. “Cardi opened the door for a lot of normal girls to feel like they could be rappers. I love Cardi for that,” said J.T.
