On his recent album Stony Hill, his first solo record since 2005, Damian Marley offers dancehall jams, roots meditations, and political statements, like "Slave Mill." In a new video, directed by B+, Marley performs an acapella snippet of the song in Stony Hill, Jamaica.
"The original inspiration was the news and seeing the things that were happening over the recent years — like Trayvon Martin," Damian Marley told The FADER over the phone. "It grew to a much wider range of topics but that was the seed of it. We were taking some pictures and the photographer [B+], who is a close friend of mine, thought it would be a good idea to catch an acapella snippet of the song."
