Chance the Rapper hosted an Open Mike event tonight, the latest in his ongoing youth music and performance showcase series in Chicago. The event has a history of bringing out big name guests, and tonight it continued the tradition with a surprise drop-in from none other than Dave Chappelle.
During the event, Dave took the stage to talk to the crowd for an impromptu set, which you can watch below in some crowdsourced fan videos. Chance also hopped on Instagram after to thank the event's additional special guests, Bulls all-star Jimmy Butler and the cast of the BET's The New Edition Story, for showing up to support.
Dave also made news by joining a protest yesterday against Trump's Muslim ban in Dayton, Ohio. “We are all here because what you [Trump] are doing does not seem right," said Dave. I support immigrants, and I love my friends and neighbors."
