Popular podcast host Taxstone has had his bail revoked by a federal judge in Manhattan. He was arrested on Monday for his alleged involvement in last May's backstage shooting at Irving Plaza.

New York Daily News reports that U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan ruled "detention is appropriate" after prosecutors argued that Taxstone "posed a danger to the community" in light of a witness testimony and DNA evidence.

Taxstone, whose real name is Daryl Campbell, was initially held on $500,000 bail for charges including possession of a firearm by a felon and receiving a firearm by interstate commerce. The charges relate to his alleged involvement in the 2016 incident which left one dead and a number of people injured including rapper Troy Ave.

Early reports suggested that "prosecutors used statements that Campbell made on his podcast, including times he repeatedly mocked Troy Ave." Taxstone’s lawyer Kenneth Montgomery has since argued in court that prosecutors misrepresented his podcast to wrongly cast him as a gang member.

At Wednesday's court hearing, Assistant U.S. Attorney Hagan Scotten said that while Campbell faces gun charges, the investigation was ongoing.
