John Holland and Jack Donoghue of the witch-house band SALEM are working on another album, THUMP reports.
The news was revealed by photographer Wolfgang Tillmans, who recently released an album called 2016 / 1986 and enlisted Holland and Donogue to remix the track "Make It Up As You Go Along." The pair, two of SALEM's founding members along with Heather Marlatt, crafted the track in Montegut, Louisiana this month, their home for the past year. "As expected," Tillmans writes, "the mix is super dense, highly abstracted from the original, and has an irresistible magic and pull." The remix will be part of a Make It Up As You Go Along EP, out September 16 with additional remixes.
Tillmans also wrote that the remix would lead to original new music, and the first album from SALEM since 2010's King Night. "John and Jack were working on a new album there, and are completing it in Los Angeles, where they live now. SALEM are back."
Representatives for SALEM were not immediately available for comment. Read Tillman's full statement above and watch the video for "King Night" below.
