February is a big month for Coldplay's Chris Martin: he performed during the Super Bowl halftime show yesterday, and he graces the cover of Rolling Stone this Friday. The magazine teased the latest issue today with a few excerpts, including one about a failed attempt to record with Beyoncé. According to the story, "Martin once presented a song to Beyoncé called 'Hook Up' and played it in the studio for her and producer Stargate. She turned it down, he says, 'in the sweetest possible way: She told me, 'I really like you—but this is awful.'"
This mirrors a similar report from earlier this year that said the late David Bowie rejected a collaboration with the line, "It’s not a very good song, is it?"
In other news, "Martin's children recently put him onto Silentó's 'Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae).' 'I'm not sure if I can whip,'" he tells Rolling Stone. "But I can nae nae with the best of them."
