In the last few months, BJ The Chicago Kid has unveiled a steady stream of new material. Of the 15 songs expected to appear on his In My Mind album, four have already hit the internet. In addition, the singer has put out covers of D'Angelo and Blackstreet and collaborations with OG Maco and Joey Bada$$.
His latest track, "Turnin' Me Up," is supposed to be the final track on In My Mind. This is full-band R&B with a strong foundation in '70s funk—the video finds BJ singing some parts lying on the couch, which brings to mind this classic video of Marvin Gaye singing "I Want You" in the studio. BJ's new clip also reprises the in-studio feel of his James Brown tribute, "Real Love Never Dies."
Look for In My Mind February 19.
