Luke James, Ro James, and BJ The Chicago Kid dive into the ’90s in “go girl” video

“Never had to lie to you, probably wouldn’t know how the hell to do it.”

Grammy-nominated artist Luke James returns to making music with "go girl" after an extensive acting stint in the last couple years. The new single features Ro James and BJ The Chicago Kid in a vintage-feeling music video that highlights all the feel-good parts of a kind of love, set with a backdrop of Riverside Park in Harlem. It's got enough funk in the grooves that adds that palpable level of Nag Champa smoke on top of the music that creeps out of a lounge.

In an email, James explained that the Ray “Neutron” Spears-directed video, "pays homage to the '90s feels. The song was inspired by that kinda love- black love to be specific. Stylistically, the video was inspired by the '90s hip-hop era.”

James' last release was "These Arms” in June 2018. Since then he's been seen in the film Little, FOX's Star, HBO’s Insecure, USA’s Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G., and BET’s The Bobby Brown Story. He will also be featured in the third season of The Chi next year.
