London O'Connor stopped by BBC Radio 1 to share three new piano renditions of his songs “GUTS” and “Nobody Hangs Out Anymore” as well as a cover of “In My Life” by The Beatles, all pre-recorded in Maida Vale.
The genre-blurring GEN F-er, who self-produced his debut album O∆ also gave an interview with Huw Stephens. One of the highlights is the discussion of his colorful on-stage cube apparatus. “I had it drawn in my notebook for like a year...it's about two feet on each side, and it's like if you took a drum machine and all its pads and you folded them.” Its function is to show aspects of O'Connor's intensely personal music that the listener literally cannot perceive. “When I'm making most of my songs I see colors and shapes and I can't really convey those to people who listen to the record so I just design all the colors for the set.” He says he does not have synesthesia, however.
