As the name of the song might suggest, "Different Kind" is a new sound from MC Frisco. Having made his name as part of grime crew Boy Better Know, the last thing you might expect to hear his flow over is a jagged guitar riff—but somehow his gravelly tones make this rock-leaning anthem work.

With rising, MOBO-winning R&B singer Shakka on the hook, "Different Kind" has an effortless energy that's irresistible, and its stripped-back video—filmed in a sparse warehouse—allows the pair's charisma to shine through. As Frisco told The FADER over email: "I'd say me and Shakka have such a genuine and unique friendship, we try to let that show through the music."
