FKA Twigs has postponed three shows on her Eusexua tour after failing to secure a visa in time to perform.
Four of the six affected shows — due to take place in Chicago, Toronto, and New York — have been rescheduled already. Twigs will now perform in New York on April 23 and 24 and in Chicago on June 24 and 25. The Toronto dates expected to be rescheduled shortly.
Breaking news of the postponements on TikTok, Twigs explained that work on the tour, which began in Europe and the U.K., has been "challenging" and that the people responsible for filing the paperwork to obtain visas for the North American leg had not failed to act in time, leading to the postponement of the shows.
“Behind the scenes practically, it has been challenging with production and just the more practical sides of putting this tour together,” she said. “So today I was informed that production did not fill out the correct paperwork in a timely manner for us to have our visas to come to the USA and perform. So that means that by no choice of my own, I will have to pull out of my New York, Chicago and Toronto shows.”
“I don’t take this lightly,” she added. “I’m completely devastated, to be honest to you. I’m completely heartbroken. All I want to do is be there with you and bring Eusexua… I have not performed in the USA since 2019 and it really feels like a home away from home, and this is just such a huge blow and I feel super let down and I’m looking into how and why this happened and I’m making sure I have the support to correct this. So with that being said, I will be rescheduling these shows and information will be coming on that very shortly. I can’t wait to bring Eusexua to you, it’s truly been one of the greatest achievements of my life.”
Twigs was due to perform in Chicago on March 26-27, Toronto on March 30-31 and Queens, NY on May 3-4. Her next scheduled live date is in Mexico City on April 6. She will also perform at both weekends of Coachella, which starts on April 11.
