When we profiled Stefan Ponce for Beat Construction, we were blown away by how laid-back the Chicago producer seemed about his style. Clocking in crossover hits for Childish Gambino and Vic Mensa out of his bedroom, Ponce betrayed a strong ear for pop while keeping things weird enough to maintain his own lane. Today, he debuts "Lost In Translation" and picks up where his "Down On My Luck" left off: dizzying house-pop anchored by an archane performance from mysterious vocalist The Mind. "The track came about from me working with Mick Jenkins," Ponce told FADER. "His manager reached out about The Mind, so he sent a couple songs and I liked them and thought it would be interesting if I sent him a house song. He sent over a demo within days, and I loved it." "Lost In Translation" will be featured on Ponce's Somewhere EP, due this Summer.
