Brooklyn songwriter Alex Craig, who has played in Big Troubles and Ducktails, releases solo synth-pop songs as Limited. Early next year, he'll put out a new EP that was mixed and mastered by Ariel Pink and Oneohtrix Point Never collaborator Al Carlson, and today FADER is premiering its first track. According to Craig, "Times Square Poet" initially "had a smooth, New Jack Swing slow-jam feel, but it ended up in significantly heavier, darker territory." He finds a nice balance between those aesthetics, and "Times Square Poet" is simultaneously romantic and alienating; Craig's delay-heavy vocals and dreamy lyricism—Can we exist in two worlds at the same time?—are grounded by the song's scraping textures. The EP is out January 20th.
