The title track from Future's upcoming Monster evoked the quality of work he was dropping back when the "Racks" hook made him famous. "Break the Rules" is the latest we've heard from the project, and is far more subdued, as Future holds back his trademark hollowing for a zoned-out, limp-lipped hook. Co-produced by Metro Boomin, DJ Spinz, and Dun Deal, it starts off like it might build into a banger, then deflates into a slowed-up woozy stomp. We missed Future's late-night studio flow the most, and he's got us queuing up classics like "Trending Topic" and "Chosen One"--let's hope the rest of Monster does the same.
