Jerry Paper Goes Dreamy and Digital on Big Pop for Chameleon World
The New York synth weirdo/wizard’s new album comes with a high concept and a strange video game.
New York City busboy Lucas W. Nathan has been chunking out analog synth-based pop songs as Jerry Paper for the better part of the last few years, but it's only recently that he decided to get really weird. When he shared the first single from Big Pop For Chameleon World last month he promised that this new LP would detail the tale of "an inter-dimensional infinite man existing in a finite world," and today he's finally released the full story. Composed of two song cycles called "Clown" and "Body," Jerry uses chintzy digital synth sounds and heavy-lidded vocalizations to craft his album-length anxiety attack about simulations and simulacra.
He's also crafted some sort of strange video game called "Dr. Javier Genneheigen's Chameleon World" that'll come along with the new record. It'll supposedly follow Jerry as he "goes on a quest for ritual purity in order to transcend the Chameleon World his body is trapped in." You can play a level of the game that's paired with the track "Synthesized Mind," over at Bozo Endeavors' website.
