Raury Ignites Forest Fires in “Cigarette Song” Video

Watch the latest visual from Atlanta’s budding singer/songwriter Raury

Atlanta whippersnapper Raury is churning along. His hybrid folk/soul sound skips along the trail Frank Ocean paved on nostalgia, Ultra--in some ways it's starkly unique, and at other times feels so squarely landed and meticulously presented that he inches towards contrive. These kind of nuances only matter as much as you let them--"Cigarette Song" is an engrossing single either way, and the video sharply frames the portrait the lyrics paint. Raury and a blonde haired redbone frolic through the woods, smoking stogies and trading oogly eyes (both fairly convincingly), before setting a large treehouse aflame. Smokey the Bear would be pretty pissed about the whole thing, but then again, even he's getting with the trendy times.
