UK-based rapper Triad God, who drops bars in Cantonese over plaintive-leaning beats by London producer Palmistry, has a new song out, and here it is in A/V form. "So Pay La," the title of which is a phonetic rendering of a Triad saying that means 'collecting skin' according to Palmistry, sounds like limbo with its stretched ecclesial synth lines and echoing notes over which Triad God mutters just a handful of words. It's hold music for the soul: the sonic equivalent of a moment lost in thought on a packed commuter train, a few minutes to yourself before the day is wrenched from your hands.
