FADER PREMIERE
Rae Sremmurd—pronounced "Ray Shrimmer"—are Atlanta-via-Mississippi's IRL brothers Slim Jimmy and Swae Lee. They've got one track so far, but it's a fucking nutbar. "We" first emerged in an abbreviated, earlier version on Mike WiLL's #MikeWiLLBeenTriLL tape; Mike and his Eardrumas produced it. Over the years, I've said a lot of songs remind me of the dying alien-in-a-robot-body from Men in Black, but this one might take the cake—except that instead of just fading into nothing, the alien's spirit is reborn in the form of squealing raps about bringing drugs and fucking up parties. Endorse, endorse. Quotes from all parties involved are below the MP3.

Mike WiLL Made It:
When I met them, they just had a real young dope energy about them, so we just started to work. So me, P-Nazty and the rest of the Eardrumas team just locked in the studio like we normally do, had a lot of fun, and cooked up a masterpiece for them, and out came "We." I debuted a snippet on #MikeWiLLBeenTriLL and it's one of the songs that's been getting the biggest responses. This is the beginning of our working relationship, but they played me some more of their music, and it was dope music. I believe in them.
Rae Sremmurd:
With "We," we just wanted to bring our life to the record; that's how we really party, always at house parties fucking them up. Just young, having fun. To work with Mike WiLL and the Eardrumas on this song was a blessing, unexpected, exciting - it's something we dreamed of, something we were working for. To go from, before the snippet dropped on #MikeWiLLBeenTriLL, to where we are now—new fans everyday, doing shows, people looking for new music—it's just been about consistency for us. "We" is the perfect way to introduce the world to us, to #SremmLife, and we just want everybody to stay tuned for what's about to come.
