As previously reported, Boston trio Quilt is readying a second collection of tuneful, harmony-laden psychedelia for Mexican Summer, recorded this past spring at the label's in-house studio, with engineering help from Woods' Jarvis Taverniere. Album cut "Tired and Buttered" really sounds anything but, riding a driving, motorik pulse into the kind of explosive chorus that sounds like it's trying to provoke a revolution, albeit one swaddled in cozy, flower power rhetoric about greeting the future with a generous smile. Held In Splendor is out January 17th in the UK, and January 28th in the US. Tourdates below.
