Not afraid of the things that go bump in the night? Nick Hook's latest music video for "Sirens," featuring verses by El-P and Rood, may change your mind. Camped out in the presumed safety of their backyard, two tween girls mouth the concentrated lyrical flow heard on the track, while fiends and frights cast spooky shadows on their small, imprisoning tent. The song, off Hook's Without You EP released last month via Scion A/V, gets dark and brooding with thumping beats, sporadic clamors and a chorus sung in a chillingly devilish tone. Chances for survival: slim to none.
