Kindness’ Adam Bainbridge has really got his music video game correct. Each release off his debut World, You Need a Change of Mind seems to up the creative ante and, particularly in the case of this video for "House," give a little window into the soul of the music. In it, Bainbridge plays the cultural critic both fascinated by the phenomenon of pop music and it's capricious progenitors: today's youth. "What I like is maybe 5% of the output that pours over this country like the oceans from both coasts, and it's mostly trash, but that good 5% is so exciting and so vital, and, may I say, so significant that it claims the attention of every thinking person," he says, and if this video does not grab your attention—even despite the fact that the actual song is only played in fragments—then maybe your brain has been a bit deadened to the ever-churning music mill. It's "a cheery bit" that features dancing, an adorable little kid and a tutorial all in one. It's also a great song, which will be released as a single on Casablanca/Terrible and will come backed by a number of b-sides and unheard mixes. Kindess will play in New York this week and across the world this summer. See a full schedule of dates below.
