25-year-old producer Adegbenga Adejumo bka Benga has been credited as one of the architects of dubstep's divisive wobbles and womps. Party circuit buddy A-Trak asked him to remix "Stingray," a siren-heavy sea safari to be released as a single tomorrow. Benga turned in this grimier, sinking-submarine rework a couple weeks after he promised it, sidelined in the interim by Australia's Parklife tour and some new toys at home. "I think he had just bought a Maserati and was busy driving fast down the London streets," A-Trak says. That car isn't the only perk of dubstep's mainstream palatability and acclaim; Benga and longtime accomplice Skream have just been given a Friday night radio show on England's esteemed Radio 1. The program, airing from 11pm to 1am, kicks off in April.
