This week, lots of people stopped working for ten minutes to watch Nicki Minaj surprise adult-in-a-baby-suit Sophia Grace and her cousin Rosie on Ellen. Sophia Grace and Rosie performed "Super Bass" in tutus on the show, as they had as YouTube stars, before Minaj appeared. Ellen DeGeneres asked Sophia Grace why, since she's the only one who does any singing in the act, she bothers having Rosie by her side. Sophia Grace said, "we like dancing together. And Rosie makes me feel more confident cause I got somebody with me." In Bleached, both Jessica and Jennifer Clavin pull their weight. Either could probably write and perform catchy punk songs about boys on their own. All of Bleached's songs anchor around an "I," not a "We," but they throw both of their voices around on "Searching Through the Past," and its weirdly exhilarating. The sisters are playing about a million shows at next week's CMJ Festival—Santos on Wednesday, Shea Stadium on Thursday, Public Assembly on Friday, Cake Shop on Saturday. Learn the words and sing along later.
