Os Mutantes' 1968 track "A Minha Menina" is a side A, song #1 gem, a jump-start, a tone-setter. Angolan-born London producer Brey (government name Breyner Baptista, a 20-year old student) teamed with Pittsburgh's Vinny Radio to re-work the Brazilian track as a menacing, more-money more-anxiety hustler's acclamation. Brey's first EP will arrive in June. Right now, he's working to finish it up, replacing the robot-horns on heat-seeking club hit "Bengela" with real ones.
