Prefuse 73's upcoming The Only She Chapters is fucking mindboggling. There are almost no drums, a lot of it sounds like noise music—but the sophisticated kind of noise music that can pass as contemporary classical in some circles, and some of it is only anchored to anything by vocals. It's a pretty alien record, except now Prefuse and album collaborator Zola Jesus put together this mix of stuff that inspired the record. What that means is that some of this sounds like an airplane taking off, other parts sound like a dude falling into a bunch of hanging pans and that there's also a Telepathe song on there. At points it's difficult to listen to, but the parts where it's not make the difficulty totally worth it.
