For the title track off SBTRKT's new EP, the UK producer kept in line with the clicky garage of "Soundboy Shift," but it also sounds like he's gotten a little more confident. "Step in Shadows" walks tall with all kinds of emotional bass heat, the sub line a determined home for the burpy space bugs atop it. Not sure what sparked this jammer, but we do know he went on vacation/"holiday" sometime between hosting our show on East Village Radio and now, so perhaps the downtime got him feeling fancy. Step in Shadows comes out November 1 on Young Turks.
