We're no food prudes, but if the items in Simian Mobile Disco's Delicatessen & Delicacies singles series are indicative of what these dudes eat, we'll probably avoid most of the hors d'oeuvres at their parties. Plates like aspic and nerve salad are good for audible interpretation, though, if you're trying to turn the texture of weird edibles into tracks. On the new jams, now up for sale on their website, they make the relatively harmless seeming "Thousand Year Egg" sound like a fossilized spawn of a dinosaur bleating from within, no problem. "Casu Marzu" is a little trickier on the palate: not being connoisseurs of Sardinian cuisine (we're better versed in the ways of Italy's mainland), at first we weren't sure why it sounded so angry. Then we googled the food. Probably not gonna eat again til Thursday now.
