Woman about town, Frankie Rose is now mayor of her own city with Frankie Rose and the Outs. She's been a member of Vivian Girls, Crystal Stilts and Dum Dum Girls, always as the life giving drummer, but here switches to guitar and vocals. The result, on "Little Brown Haired Girls," the first track around from her self-title September solo debut on Slumberland, is something more ’90s guitar than ’60s garage. It's a strong song from a strong musician, one who's certainly got heavy flair and a heavy following, not to mention a style completely her own. We're happy to see it stretch out of Phil Spector's rats' nest.
