We'd heard a couple years ago that Blaqstarr really wanted to stop DJing so that he could focus on his career as an artist. Until then, his electrocized Baltimore club music had been mainly production work, something between songs and DJ tools. But instead of a huge rush of new songs, there was radio silence. So "Oh My Darling" marks the return to the plot for Blaqstarr. He's in front of the camera here, with a mohawk made of feathers amidst a crew of scared geishas. The song is a simple loop with Blaqstarr's melancholy plea, something between Kanye, Prince and Robin Thicke, direct and driving. (via Discobelle)
