Toddla T's original ragga-inflected, hard UK funky grimepiece would have been easy to flip into a typical Bmore track—speed that shit up, put the appropriate beats on there, sample Serocee going "Gyal shake it shake it/come on and get naked naked" as instructive chorus and voila! Club music! But Sega is too smart/not lazy enough for that approach. For his Philly club remix, he inversed the expected, and this cleverly subtle, restrained version sounds a bit like a dancefloor burner turning its pockets inside out. Rather than letting the chorus guide the song like lots of rote Club tracks, he spliced it up into twitchy little segments and left its UK garage spirit intact, shakers and tinny treble-synths oscillating the track into oblivion. So impressive.
